Umbanda
A Umbanda, religião trazida da África, pelos escravos que aqui viveram por volta do século XVIII.
Considerada, na época como feitiçaria, os escravos tinham que cultuar suas divindades às escondidas, para que não fossem descobertos, presos e açoitados pelos senhores de escravos.
No século XIX, mais precisamente no ano de 1826, a Umbanda se tornou uma religião no Brasil.
O mesmo culto, outrora secreto e discriminado, agora adentrava as tradições brasileiras e se fazia respeitar entre as outras religiões.
Foi através do médium Zélio de Moraes, em 1826, que o caboclo das Sete Encruzilhadas anunciou ao mundo que a Umbanda sairia do anonimato africano e estenderia seu ritual através das nações e em pouco tempo ganharia milhões de seguidores; E assim se fez.
Na verdade, seria muito mais bem sucedida se não fossem os falsos médiuns e os enganadores que julgam a religião como um modo de ganhar dinheiro e não como um dom divino. Espero que nenhum de vocês encontrem pessoas assim.
